WSMN-1590 Receives Two NHAB Golden Mike Awards
RECOGNIZED FOR BEST TALK SHOW & BEST SPOT NEWS COVERAGE
Nashua, NH (November 10, 2006) – Absolute Broadcasting, LLC, owners of Nashua’s WSMN-AM 1590, recently announced that the station is this year’s recipient of two Golden Mike Awards from the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters (NHAB).
Presented in October at the annual Golden Mike Awards ceremony at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, the awards were made in recognition for best talk show, The Woody Woodland Show, and best spot news for the station’s special coverage of the state-of-emergency flooding that took place in Southern New Hampshire this past spring.
“We are very happy to be recognized by the association,” said Tom Monahan, Owner of Absolute Broadcasting. “We have made a strong commitment to local programming and are grateful for our connection with the community. Woody’s show is very popular in the city and he is an exceptional talent. All of us at the station are thrilled that his efforts, along with those of the news team, have been acknowledged.”
WSMN-AM 1590 is Nashua’s local news and talk radio station, which was acquired by Absolute Broadcasting, LLC in 2004. The company also owns WGAM-AM 900 and WGAM-AM 1250, all-sports talk stations located in Nashua and Manchester, covering the Southern New Hampshire region. In addition to the popular “Friday Night Lights” and “The Home Team” local shows, the stations also feature Red Sox baseball, Patriot’s football and programming from Fox Sports.
